Verse: 85 - The Spirit is with the Imam's (as)

Verse: 85

"They ask thee concerning the Spirit, Say: "The Spirit is from the command of my Lord. And of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you." [17:85]

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from ibn Muskan from abu Basir who has said the following.

"I asked abu ‘Abd Allah (as) about the words of Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High. ‘They ask you about the Spirit. Say, "The Spirit comes by the command of my Lord . . .’" [17:85]

The Imam (as) said, "He is a creature greater than Jibril and Mika’il. He was with the Messenger of Allah and he is present with the Imams (as). He is from the realm of the angels."

Ali has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from abu Ayyub al-Khazzaz from abu Basir who has said the following.

"I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (as) say, ‘They ask you about the Spirit. Say, "The Spirit comes by the command of my Lord . . .’" [17:85]

The Imam (as) said, "He is a creature greater than Jibril and Mika’il. He was not present with anyone before except Muhammad (saww). He is present with the Imams (as). He protects them. It is not that whatever is desired is found."
