027: al-Naml

Chapter: 27, Verse: 62 - The call of the distressed (referring to Mahdi ع):

أَمَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ الْأَرْضِ

"Who answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes the suffering, and He will make you successors in the earth" (27:62)


و عَنْهُ: بِالْإِسْنَادِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ)، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: أَمَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذا دَعاهُ، قَالَ: هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ نَزَلَتْ فِي الْقَائِمِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ)، إِذَا خَرَجَ تَعَمَّمَ، وَ صَلَّى عِنْدَ الْمَقَامِ، وَ تَضَرَّعَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ، فَلَا تُرَدُّ لَهُ رَايَةٌ أَبَداً

Narrated from Abu Jafar Imam Baqir (ع) about the saying of Allah (عز وجل), "Who answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him" (27:62)

Imam (ع) said, "This verse was revealed for al-Qaim (ع), when he appears wearing a turban and prays at the station of Ibrahim and beseech His Lord, so the banner will never be taken back from Him"

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ)، قَالَ: «نَزَلَتْ فِي الْقَائِمِ مِنْ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ (عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ)، هُوَ وَ اللَّهِ الْمُضْطَرُّ، إِذَا صَلَّى فِي الْمَقَامِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَ دَعَا اللَّهَ فَأَجَابَهُ، وَ يَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ، وَ يَجْعَلُهُ خَلِيفَةً فِي الْأَرْضِ

Narrated that Abu Abdillah Imam Sadiq (ع) said,

"It (Verse 27:62) was revealed for al-Qaim from Aal-e-Mohammad (ع). By Allah, He is the distressed one, when He prays 2 units of prayers at the station of Ibrahim and calls upon Allah and Allah will answer Him and remove His suffering and establishes Him as the successor (Khalifa) in the earth."

Chapter: 27, Verse: 89-90 - The one 'Good deed' and one 'Bad deed'

محمد بن يعقوب: عن الحسين بن محمد، عن معلى بن محمد، عن محمد بن اورمة، ومحمد بن عبد الله، عن علي بن حسان، عن عبد الرحمان بن كثير، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام)، قال: «قال أبو جعفر (عليه السلام): دخل أبو عبد الله الجدلي على أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام)، فقال له: يا أبا عبد الله، ألا أخبرك بقول الله عز وجل: مَنْ جاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْها وَهُمْ مِنْ فَزَعٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ آمِنُونَ* وَمَنْ جاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَكُبَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِي النَّارِ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا ما كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ‏ ؟ قال: بلى- يا أمير المؤمنين- جعلت فداك. فقال: الحسنة معرفة الولاية، وحبنا أهل البيت، والسيئة إنكار الولاية، وبغضنا أهل البيت

Narrated from Abu Abdillah Imam Sadiq (asws) from Imam Mohammad Baqir (asws):

"Abu Abdillah al-Jadali came to Amir al-Momineen Imam Ali (asws) and Imam Ali (as) said to him, "Shall I not inform you about the saying of Allah (swt), "Whoever brings good, he shall have better than it; and they shall be secure from terror on that day. And whoever brings evil, these shall be thrown down on their faces into the fire; shall you be rewarded (for) aught except what you did? (27:89-90)

He said, "Yes, O'Amir al-Momineen (asws), may I be sacrificed for You".

Imam Ali (asws) said, "The 'Good' refers to recognizing Wilayat and Loving Us the AhlulBayt (asws) and the 'Evil' refers to rejecting Wilayat and hating Us the AhlulBait (asws)"

قال: حدثنا أحمد بن إدريس، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن الحسن بن محبوب، عن هشام بن سالم، عن عمار الساباطي، قال: كنت عند أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام)، وسأله عبد الله بن أبي يعفور عن قول الله عز وجل: مَنْ جاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْها وَهُمْ مِنْ فَزَعٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ آمِنُونَ‏ ، فقال: « مَنْ جاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْها وَهُمْ مِنْ فَزَعٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ آمِنُونَ‏ ، فقال: «وهل تدري ما الحسنة؟ إنما الحسنة معرفة الإمام وطاعته، وطاعته من طاعة الله

Abdullah bin Abi Yafoor asked Imam Sadiq (as) about the saying of Allah (swt):

"Whoever brings good, he shall have better than it; and they shall be secure from terror on that day." (27:89)

Imam (asws) said, "Do you understand what the 'Good' is? Indeed the 'Good' is recognizing the Imam and obeying Him and His obedience is from the obedience of Allah (swt)"
