Types of Ahadith fabricated by the Enemies

Very Important narration about taking Ahadith from the Non-Shias

أبي عن الحسين بن أحمد المالكي عن أبيه عن إبراهيم بن أبي محمود قال : قلت للرضا عليه السلام : يابن رسول الله إن عندنا أخبارا في فضائل أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام وفضلكم أهل البيت وهي من رواية مخالفيكم ولا نعرف مثلها عنكم ، أفندين بها ؟ فقال : يابن أبي محمود لقد أخبرني أبي عن أبيه عن جده عليهم السلام أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال : من أصغى إلى ناطق فقد عبده ، فان كان الناطق عن الله عزوجل فقد عبدالله ، وإن كان الناطق عن إبليس فقد عبد إبليس . ثم قال الرضا عليه السلام : يابن أبي محمود إن مخالفينا وضعوا أخبارا في فضائلنا وجعلوها على أقسام ثلاثة : أحدها الغلو ، وثانيها التقصير في أمرنا ، وثالثها التصريح بمثالب أعدائنا ، فاذا فاذا سمع الناس الغلو فينا كفروا شيعتنا ونسبوهم إلى القول بربوبيتنا وإذا سمعوا التقصير اعتقدوه فينا ، وإذاسمعوا مثالب أعدائنا بأسمآئهم ثلبونا بأسمآئنا ، وقد قال الله عزوجل : ولا تسبوا الذين يدعون من دون الله فيسبوا الله عدوا بغير علم.
يابن أبي محمود إذا أخذ الناس يمينا وشمالا فالزم طريقتنا فانه من لزمنا لزمناه ، ومن فارقنا فارقناه ، إن أدنى مايخرج الرجل من الايمان أن يقول للحصاة : هذه نواة ، ثم يدين بذلك ويبرأ ممن خالفه ، يابن أبي محمود احفظ ما حدثتك به فقد جمعت لك فيه خير الدينا والآخرة


Ibrahim bin Abi Mahmoud said:

I asked Imam Ali bin Musa Al-Redha(as), "O Son of the Messenger of Allah! We hear Ahadith about the virtues of the Commander of the Believers(as) and about your virtues, the (virtues of the) Ahlul Bayt(as), through the sources of the non-shias, but we have not heard these things from you. Should we believe in them?"

Imam Ali bin Musa Al-Redha(as) replied, "O son of Abi Mahmoud! My father narrated from his father, from his grandfather, from the Messenger of Allah(saww); who said:

"Those who listen to a speaker have worshipped (the owner of the words). Therefore, if the speaker preaches the words of Allah, then the listeners have worshipped Allah. However, if the speaker says the words of Shaytan, then the listeners have worshipped Shaytan."

O son of Abi Mahmoud! Our enemies have fabricated three kinds of Ahadith about us. The first kind are the exaggerated virtues, the second kind are those Ahadith that reduce us from our status and the third kind are the Ahadith that are about the defects of our enemies.

So when people hear the exaggerated virtues, they call our Shia Kafers and they charge them with believing that we are gods. When they hear about the virtues that reduce us from our status, they believe in them. And when they hear (the Ahadith) about the defects of our enemies by their names, they insult us by our names.

Allah has said in His book, "Do not abuse those whom they invoke besides Allah, lest they, out of ignorance, exceed the limits and abuse Allah" (6:109).

O son of Abi Mahmoud! (Even) If the people go right and left, you hold on to our path because we will hold those who hold on to us, and we will abandon those who abandon us. One is nearest to disbelief when he calls the pebble a pip, and disowns those who do not share his false beliefs.

O son of Abi Mahmoud! Memorize what I said to you because I gathered the good of this life and of the Hereafter for you in what I just said

Note:

The last part of this hadith is been misused by Muqassirs give fatwa to prohibit Tabarra on enemies of Ahlebait(as).

There are many ahadith about open tabarra so there are many who believe in open tabarra at all places without exception due to the ahadith fabricated by enemies about the enemies. But we believe in open tabarra only in our gatherings & tabarra with wisdom in other places due to the hadith about the the third category.

We do so due the need of perfect balance between the hadith of the third category of enemies & true ahadith in favour of tabarra/creation of hell. Besides that there are suras such as Bara'at, Munafiqoon, Lahab & hundreds of verses about Tabarra. So one has to have a vision of perfect balance about Tabarra and understand where there will be application of Tabarra & where the verse about the cursing the god of others will be applied.

The tone of hadith itself says that it's about the manner/way of conveying the defects of the enemies & not the defect being there or not. Moreover the ayat conveyed by Imam(as) in the argument itself shows that its not about the false god being false or not, but its about the way you convey.

If we take the hadith as it is, then we will have to Nauzubillah reject the defects of the enemies even if it is narrated by Imams (as). But Qur'anic verses (specially Shajrae Khabisa), Thousands of Ahadith, History of the enemies & Aql force us to strongly believe that the enemies of Imams(as) were full of defects of all times(Ashqal Awwaleen Wal Akhereen).

Tabarra is more essential act of worship in Shiasm than Tawalla, infact Tabarra is the only way to proves Tawalla as per verses of Holy Qur'an & Ahadith of Masumeen (as). Therefore the third point doesn't stop from Tabarra at all nor does it stop from mentioning the defects of the enemies of Ahlulbait (as) without names or by names in our gatherings, rather it's about mentioning the defects of the enemies in general gatherings, which includes followers of the enemies.
