Hadith 1:
Narrated from Imam Ali ibn Muhammad al-Naqi (عليهما السلام) from his forefathers, from Imam Baqir (عليه السلام), from Jabir who said,
"I was walking with Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام) by the Euphrates River when a great wave came out and covered Him until He was hidden from me. Then the wave receded from him and there was no wetness on Him. I was amazed by this and wondered, and I asked Him about it."
So Imam Ali (عليه السلام) said, "Did you see that?"
I (Jabir) said, 'Yes.'
Imam Ali (عليه السلام) said, "That was the angel in charge of water, he came out and greeted me and embraced/hugged me."

Narrated from Saeed ibn Musayyab who said,
I asked Ali ibn al-Husayn (عليه السلام), "How old was Ali ibn Abi Talib (عليه السلام) when he became a Muslim?"

Hadith 3:
Narrated that Imam Ali (عليه السلام) was once on the pulpit of Basra when he said, "O people, ask me before you lose me. Ask me about the paths of the heavens, for I know them better than the paths of the earth."
Then a man stood up from among the people and said, "Where is Jibraeel at this moment?"
So the Imam glanced up at the sky, then glanced towards the east, then glanced towards the west, but he found no trace. So the Imam turned to the man and said, "O old man, you are Jibraeel."
Then that man took the form of a bird clapping its wings and flew away from between the people, and those present there raised their voice and said, "We testify that you are truly the successor of the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله)."

Imam Ali (عليه السلام) in a letter to Muawiyah says:

Hadith 5: None like Ali (عليه السلام)
Narrated from Abu al-Hasan Imam Musa Kazim (عليه السلام) that The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله) said to Imam Ali (عليه السلام):
"I am the Messenger of Allah who conveys His message and You are the face of Allah who is followed. There is no one equal to Me except You, and there is no one like You except Me."

Hadith 6: Imam Ali (ع) & the Prophets (ع)
Sulaym ibn Qays says, I said to Abu Dharr, narrate to me the most amazing thing you heard from the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله) about Ali ibn Abu Talib (عليه السلام) - until he said -
Abu Dhar said, I heard the Messenger of Allah
"Allah has always presented the argument/proof (Hujjat) through Ali (عليه السلام) in every nation in which a Messenger was sent, and those who had the most profound recognition (marifat) of Ali (عليه السلام) held the highest position before Allah."

Hadith 7: Doubting the merits of Imam Ali (ع)
Narrated that The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله) said:
"The one who doubts the excellence (merits) of Ali ibn Abi Talib (عليه السلام), will rise from his grave on the Day of Judgment, with a collar of fire around his neck, having three hundred branches. On each branch, there will be a Satan who will frown at his face and will spit on it."

Hadith 8:
Narrated from Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (عليه السلام), from his father Musa ibn Jafar (عليه السلام), from his father Jafar ibn Muhammad (عليه السلام), from his father Muhammad ibn Ali (عليه السلام), from his father Ali ibn al-Husayn (عليه السلام), from his father al-Husayn ibn Ali (عليه السلام), from his father Ali ibn Abi Talib (عليه السلام) from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله), from Jibrail, from Mikael, from Israfil from Allah (جل جلاله), that Allah said,
"I am Allah – there is no god but Me. I created the creation with My power. I selected whomever I wished to be My prophets from among them. I selected Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله) from all of them to be My Beloved, My Friend, and My chosen one. I sent him as a Messenger to My creation.
I chose Ali (عليه السلام) for him, and I made him his brother, his deputy, his vizier, and his representative to My creation after him.
He (i.e. Ali ع) is My vicegerent (khalifa) over My servants, who clarifies My Book to them and applies My judgment among them.
I have made him the sign that guides from misguidance, and My gate from which they come, and My house – whoever enters it is safe from My Fire, and My fortress – whoever seeks refuge in it is protected from the hateful things of this world and the Hereafter, and My Face – whoever faces it, I will not turn My Face away from him, and My Proof (Hujjah) in the heavens and the Earths over all that is in them of my creatures.
I will not accept the deeds of any of them unless they accept His Mastership (Wilayah) along with the Prophethood of My Messenger - Ahmad (ص).
He is My open hand over My servants.
He is the blessing by which I bless those who I love from among My servants.
Whoever I love from among My servants, I make him recognize him and his Mastership (Wilayah).
Whoever I hate from My servants. I make him not recognize him and his Mastership (Wilayah).
I swear by My glory and I vow by My majesty, surely, no servant from My servants will befriend Ali (عليه السلام) - except that I will move him away from the Fire and enter him into Paradise, and no servant from My servants will hate him and reject his Mastership (Wilayah) except that I will hate him and enter him into the Fire and evil is (such) destination."

Hadith 9: Surely, Completely & Truly fortunate
Narrated from Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad (عليه السلام), from His Father, from Imam Ali ibn Husain (عليه السلام), from Fatimah al-Sughra (عليها السلام), from Imam Husain ibn Ali (عليه السلام), from His Mother Fatimah bint Muhammad (صلوات الله عليهم) who said,
"The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله) came out to us on the eve of Arafah and said: Surely Allah (تبارك وتعالى) has boasted about you all and has forgiven you all in general, and Imam Ali (عليه السلام) in particular. Surely I am the Messenger of Allah to you, not showing favoritism to my relatives.
This is Jibraeel informing me that surely, completely and truly happy/fortunate is the one who loves Ali (عليه السلام) during His lifetime and after His death.
And surely, completely and truly wretched/unfortunate/evil is the one who hates Ali (عليه السلام) during His lifetime and after His death."

Hadith 10: Why named Dhulfaqar
Narrated that Imam Mohammad Baqir (عليه السلام) was asked as to why the sword of Imam Ali (عليه السلام) was called Dhulfiqar
The Imam Said, "Because Imam Ali (عليه السلام) did not strike anyone from the creations of Allah (عز وجل) with it, except that He deprived him in this world from his family and children and deprived him from paradise in the hereafter."

Sayed Razi in his book “Khasais al-Aaimah” narrates:
Amir al-Momineen Ali (عليه السلام), was sitting in the mosque when two men entered and disputed before him. One of them was a Khawarij. The judgment was directed towards the Khawarij, and Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام) judged against him.
The Khawarij said to him, "By Allah, you have not judged with fairness, nor have you been just in the judgment, and your judgment is not pleasing to Allah."
Amir al-Momineen Ali (عليه السلام) said to him, gesturing with his hand, "Go away, O enemy of Allah!" And he transformed into a black dog.
Those present said, "By Allah, we saw his clothes fly away in the air, and he began to wag his tail at Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام) and tears flowed from his eyes upon his face.
We saw Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام) have pity on him, the Imam look up at the sky, and move his lips in words we did not hear. By Allah, we saw him return to human form, and his clothes fell from the air onto his shoulders. We saw him leave the mosque, his feet trembling.
We were astonished, looking at Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام). He said to us, 'Why do you look and wonder?'
We said, 'O Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام), how can we not wonder when you have done what you have done?'
The Imam said, 'Do you not know that Asaf ibn Barkhiya, the vizier of Suleyman, son of Dawood (عليهما السلام), did something similar? Allah has told his story where He says, 'Which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?' An ifrit from the jinn said, 'I will bring it to you before you rise from your seat, and indeed I am strong and trustworthy.' The one who had knowledge of the Book said, 'I will bring it to you before your eye blinks.' So when he saw it firmly established with him, he said, 'This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful,' until the end of the verse. (27:38-40).
So who is more honorable to Allah, your Prophet or Suleyman (عليهم السلام)?'
They said, 'Rather, our Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله) is more honorable, O Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام).'
The Imam said, 'And the vizier of your Prophet is more honorable than the vizier of Suleyman. And the vizier of Suleyman only had one letter of the greatest name of Allah. So he asked Allah, and Allah caused the earth to split between him and the throne of Bilqis, so he took it in less than the blink of an eye. And we have seventy-two letters of the greatest name of Allah, and there is one letter that Allah has reserved for Himself and not given to His creation.'
They said to him, “Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام), if this is with you, then what is your need for the helpers in fighting Muawiyah and others, and why do you call upon people for a second war against him?”
The Imam said, “Rather, they are honored servants, They do not precede Him in speech and they act according to His command” (21:26-27). I only call these people to fight him to establish the proof and to complete the trial. And if I were permitted to destroy him, I would not have delayed. But Allah tests His creation with whatever He wills.'
They said, 'So we rose from around him, magnifying what He had presented.'
