al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Mujtaba (عليه السلام)

Hadith 1:

Part of a long hadith as narrated from Prophet Muhammad

As for al-Hasan (عليه السلام), He is My son and My child.

He is from Me, the joy of My eye,

The light of My heart, and the fruit of My heart.

He is the Master of the Youth of Paradise, and the Proof (Hujjat) of Allah upon the Nation.

His order is My order, and His words are My words.

Whomever follows him is of Me, and whomever disobeys him is not of Me.

When I looked at him, I remembered the humiliation He will experience after Me.

His authority will remain until He is killed with poison in oppression and enmity. At that, the angels & the seven skies will cry over His death, and everything will cry over Him, including the birds in the sky and the whales in the sea.

Whoever cries over Him will not be blinded on the Day that the eyes will be blinded.

Whoever grieves over him will not grieve on the Day that the hearts will grieve.

Whoever visits him in his Baqi, His feet will be firm on the Path on the Day that the feet will slip.

Hadith 2:

Narrated that Abu Abd-Allah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said,

Al-Hasan ibn Ali (عليهما السلام) went on a journey, and with him was a man from the offspring of Zubayr who used to belief in His Imamate. They stopped at one of the watering places under a palm tree, which had dried up due to lack of water. So a place was made for al-Hasan (عليه السلام) under a palm tree and a place was made for the Zubayri facing Him under another palm tree.

The Zubayri then said while raising his head, "If there were dates in this palm tree, we would have eaten from it."

Al-Hasan (عليه السلام) said to him, "Indeed, you desire dates."

The Zubayri said, "Yes"

So, al-Hasan (عليه السلام) raised His hands to the sky and supplicated with words that I did not understand, then the palm tree turned green and returned to its original condition and became loaded with dates.

The camel drivers from whom the camels were hired said, “Its magic by Allah.”

Al-Hasan (عليه السلام) said, "Woe to you, this is not magic but the supplication of the son of a prophet that has been answered."

They climbed up the palm tree and gathered what was in it, and it sufficed them."

Hadith 3:

Narrated that Muawiyah said to Imam Hasan ibn Ali (عليه السلام),

"I am better than You, O Hasan (عليه السلام)"

Imam Hasan (عليه السلام) responded back saying,

"And Allah forbid that I say, I am better than you, since there is no good in you. But Allah has cleared Me of vices/evils as He has cleared you of virtues (Fazail)."

Hadith 4:

When the Amir al-Momineen Ali ibn Abi Talib (عليه السلام), finished the Battle of the Camel, he fell ill and Friday came.

So he said to his son al-Hasan (عليه السلام), "Go, my son, and lead the Friday prayers."

So al-Hasan (عليه السلام) went to the mosque. When he ascended the pulpit, he praised Allah, extolled Him, testified that there is no god but Allah, and sent blessings upon the Messenger of Allah

Then He said, "O people, indeed, Allah chose Us for His prophethood and has chosen Us over His creation. He sent His book and His revelation to us. By Allah, no one will degrade us of any of our rights but that Allah will degrade him in this world and the Hereafter, and no authority will be over Us except that the ultimate victory will be ours, "And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time." (38:88)

Then He led the people for the Friday prayers, and his father was informed of his saying.

When Imam Hasan (عليه السلام) returned to his father (عليه السلام), he looked at him and could not hold back his tears from flowing down his cheeks. Then he drew him near and kissed him between his eyes and said, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for You. "Offspring one of the other, and indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing." (3:34)

Hadith 5:

Narrated from Abu Abd-Allah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام), that Imam Hasan ibn Ali (عليهما السلام) on a journey to Mecca met a person who said to the Imam:

"I am only your slave. Just pray to Allah for me that I may be granted a healthy son who would love you - the Ahl al-Bayt (عليهم السلام). When I left, my wife was about to give birth."

Imam Hasan (عليه السلام) said, "Go to your home. Allah has granted you with a healthy son who is from our Shia."
