Hadith 2: Zekr (Remembrance) of Allah (swt) and tears for Imam Husain (as):
Narrated from some slave of Imam Ali bin al-Husain (as) that:
"One day Imam Ali bin Husain (as) went outside towards a desert and I followed him, and I found him doing Sajdah (prostration) upon rough stones. I stopped and I was hearing his sobbing and his crying and I counted a thousand times while the Imam (as) was saying, " لا إله إلا الله حقا حقا ، لا إله إلا الله تعبدا ورقا ، لا إله إلا الله إيمانا وصدقا ".
He then raised his head from Sujood and his beard and face were drenched with tears from His eyes.
I said, "My Master, is it not time that your grief ends and your crying reduces?
Imam (as) said, "Woe to you, verily Yaqoob bin Ishaq bin Ibraheem (as) was a Prophet and son of a Prophet and He had 12 sons and Allah (swt) made one of his sons to disappear, so the hair of his head turned white due to grief and his back bent due to the sorrow and his eyesight was lost due to crying, while His son was alive in the world. And I saw my Father, My brother and 17 members from my family lying dead, so how can my grief and crying end?

Hadith 3:
From the poetry of Farazdaq about Imam Ali ibn Husain (عليهما السلام) when the Imam was near the Kaaba during Hajj:
This is one whose footsteps the valley (of Mecca) recognizes, And the House (i.e. Kaaba) and sanctuary (Haram) recognizes Him.
This is the son of the best of all Allah’s servants, this is the Pious, the Pure, the chaste/clean outstanding man.
When He comes to touch the corner of the wall of the Kaaba, it almost grasps the palm of his hand.

Hadith 4:
From the Sermon of Imam Ali ibn Husain (عليه السلام) in Kufa:
Imam Zayn al-Abideen (عليه السلام) gestured to the people to be silent. When they were silent, he stood up, praised Allah and glorified Him. Then he mentioned the Prophet (ص) and send salutations upon Him and then He said,
"O people! Those who know me, know me, but for those who do not know me, I will introduce myself. I am Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib (عليهم السلام).
I am the son of the one whose sanctity/respect was violated, whose bounties were taken, whose possessions were plundered, and whose family was imprisoned.
I am the son of the man who was slaughtered at the banks of the Euphrates [furat], without any reason of blood-revenge or blame.
I am the son of the one who was killed while he was stead-fast, and that is sufficient for me to be proud about."

Hadith 5:
Narrated that Yazid said to Imam Ali ibn Husayn (عليه السلام) when they were brought to Shaam:
"However, Your Father and Grandfather wanted to be rulers. All praise is for Allah who killed the two of them and shed their blood"
Imam (عليه السلام) responded, "Prophethood and rulership/authority have always belonged to My forefathers and My ancestors before you were even born."

Abu Hazim reports:
A man said to Imam Ali ibn al-Ḥusayn Zayn al-Abidin (عليه السلام) “Do you know the prayer (salah)?”
So I was about to get to him, but the Imam said:“Calm down, O Aba Hazim, for indeed the scholars are those who are forbearing and compassionate.”
Then the Imam turned to the questioner and said: “Yes, I know it.”
So the man asked him about its actions, its avoidances, its obligations, and its recommended acts, until he reached the question:
He asked: “What is its beginning?”
The Imam replied: “The takbīr (saying Allahu Akbar).”
He asked: “What is its proof?”
The Imam replied: “The recitation (of Quran - qira’at).”
He asked: “What is its humility (khushu)?”
The Imam replied: “Looking at the place of prostration.”
He asked: “What is its beginning that makes other actions prohibited (taḥrīm)?”
The Imam replied: “The takbir.”
He asked: “What is its conclusion that makes the other actions allowed again (tahlil)?”
The Imam replied: “The salam (greeting of peace).”
He asked: “What is its essence?”
The Imam replied: “Glorification (tasbih).”
He asked: “What is its distinguishing mark (shiʿar)?”
The Imam replied: “The taqib (remembrance and supplication after the prayer).”
He asked: “What is its completion?”
The Imam replied: “Sending blessings upon Muḥammad and the family of Muḥammad.”
He asked: “What is the cause of its acceptance?”
The Imam replied: “Our Mastership (wilayah) and disassociation (bara’at) from our enemies.”
The man then said: “You have left no argument for anyone (against you).”
Then he rose, saying: “Allah knows best where He places His message.”
