Hadith 1:

Narrated as part of a long narration - When Imam Baqir (عليه السلام) was taken to al-Sham (Damascus) to the court of Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik and when the Imam was insulted there:

The Imam stood up and said:

ثم قال: أيها الناس أين تذهبون وأين يراد بكم، بنا هدى الله أولكم وبنا يختم آخركم، فإن يكن لكم ملك معجل فإن لنا ملكا مؤجلا وليس بعد ملكنا ملك لأنا أهل العاقبة يقول الله عز وجل: " والعاقبة للمتقين " فأمر به إلى الحبس

"O people! Where are you going? And where are you being led to?

Through Us Allah guided your first ones (i.e., your predecessors), and through Us He will conclude (the affairs of) your last ones (i.e., your successors).

So, if you have the present rule, then surely, we have the deferred (future) rule.

And there is no rule after our rule, for we are the people of the final outcome. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "And the (good) end is for the righteous (or the God-fearing)."(7:128)"

Hisham then ordered for the Imam to be sent to prison.
