Imam Hasan al-Askari (as)

Hadith 1:

Narrated from Abu Hashim,

"I came to Imam Hasan al-Askari (ع) and the Imam was writing a letter. When it was time for Salaat/Prayer, He (ع) put the paper down from His hand and stood up for prayer. And I saw the pen moving over the paper & writing on the paper till it reached its end. So I went down into prostration to Him (out of respect or thanks?). When the Imam (ع) finished praying, He took the pen by His hand and gave permission for people to enter."

Hadith 2:

Narrated that Abu Muhammad Imam Hasan Askari (ع) was imprisoned under the supervision of Ali ibn Narmasha who was one of the extremely hostile men towards the descendants of Abu Talib (ع). The Imam had stayed with him only for a day and the guard who was hostile towards him placed his cheek in submission to Him & he would not raise his eyes towards him due to honor/esteem/respect and greatness. And the Imam came out from his prison in such a state that the guard had turned into having the highest degree of understanding of Him and would speak the best words about Him.

Hadith 3:

Narrated from Abu Hashim that Abu Muhammad Imam Hasan Askari (عليه السلام) said,

"There is a gate in Heaven called al-Maroof (Kindness), and no one will enter it except the people of kindness."

I (i.e. Abu Hashim, the narrator) thanked Allah within myself and rejoiced for what I had taken upon myself of fulfilling the needs of the people.

Abu Muhammad Imam Hasan al-Askari (عليه السلام) looked at me and said, "Yes I know of what you do. And surely the people of kindness in this world will also be known as the people of kindness in the hearafter. May Allah make you amongst them and have mercy upon you O Abu Hashim."

Hadith 4:

Narrated by Musa bin Jafar bin Wahab al-Baghdadi that the following letter (Tawqee) came from Abu Muhammad Imam Hasan Askari (عليه السلام)"

"They thought that they wanted to kill me in order to cut off this offspring (i.e. Imamat), and surely Allah (عز وجل) has disproved what they said, and all praise be to Allah."

Hadith 5:

Muhammad bin al-Hasan said, I wrote to Imam Hasan ibn Ali al-Askari (عليه السلام) complaining about poverty.

I (the narrator) then said to myself, "Has not Aba AbdAllah (عليه السلام) said, that poverty while being with Us is better than wealth while being with our enemies and being killed along with Us is better than having a life along with our enemies"

The reply came from Imam Hasan Askari (عليه السلام), "Indeed Allah (عز وجل) bestows poverty upon Our friends when their sins become many and surely Allah forgives many of the sins. And it's like what you said to yourself, that poverty while being with Us is better than wealth while being with our enemies. And we are a protective cave for those who take refuge with Us and Light for those who seek enlightenment from Us and Protection for those who seek Our Protection. The one who loves Us will be along with Us in the elevated places and the one who turns away from Us will incline to the fire."

Hadith 6:

In the detailed narration describing the meeting of Ibrahim ibn Mahziyar with Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام),

Ibrahim ibn Mahziyar had a ring which was given to him by Imam Hasan Askari (عليه السلام) and on that ring was written – "Ya Allah, Ya Muhammad, Ya Ali"

In the same narration Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام) says that His father Imam Hasan Askari (عليه السلام) said to him describing the events after the reappearance (zuhoor):

"The infant in the cradle will wish he could get up and come to you."

Hadith 7: Dont feel shy in asking the Imam for your needs

Narrated from Abu Hashim al-Jafari,

"I complained to Abu Muhammad Imam Hasan Askari (عليه السلام) about the constraining cell of the prison and the weight of the shackles on me. He wrote back in reply to me. “Today you will pray your Zuhr prayers in your own home."

I then was released that day and prayed the Zuhr prayer in my own home as the Imam (عليه السلام) had said.”

And I was under financial constraints and I decided to ask the Imam for a certain number of Dinars in writing, but I felt shy.

When I went to my house, the Imam (عليه السلام) sent me a hundred Dinars and wrote to me saying, "If you need anything do not feel embarrassed or ashamed/shy. Ask for it and you will find it as you wish, by the will of Allah."
