Hadith 1:

أخبرنا محمد بن محمد، قال: أخبرنا أبو بكر محمد بن عمر الجعابي، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد، قال: حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن عبيد، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن محمد، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن محمد بن المثنى الأزدي: أنه سمع أبا عبد الله جعفر بن محمد (عليه السلام) يقول: نحن السبب بينكم وبين الله (عز وجل).

Narrated that Imam Jafar Sadiq (عليه السلام) said,

"We are the means (sabab) between you and Allah."

Hadith 2:

And then we have the following words in the Dua al-Nudbah addressing Imam al-Mahdi (عليه السلام):

أين السبب المتصل بين الأرض والسماء

"Where is the continuous/uninterrupted means (sabab) between the earth and the heavens."
