Hadith 1:

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي الصَّبَّاحِ عَنْ زَيْدٍ الشَّحَّامِ قَالَ‏ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) فَقَالَ يَا زَيْدُ جَدِّدْ عِبَادَةً وَ أَحْدِثْ تَوْبَةً قَالَ نَعَيْتَ إِلَيَّ نَفْسِي جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ قَالَ فَقَالَ لِي يَا زَيْدُ مَا عِنْدَنَا خَيْرٌ لَكَ وَ أَنْتَ مِنْ شِيعَتِنَا قَالَ وَ قُلْتُ وَ كَيْفَ لِي أَنَا أَكُونُ مِنْ شِيعَتِكُمْ قَالَ فَقَالَ لِي أَنْتَ مِنْ شِيعَتِنَا إِلَيْنَا الصِّرَاطُ وَ الْمِيزَانُ وَ حِسَابُ شِيعَتِنَا وَ اللَّهِ لَأَنَا أَرْحَمُ بِكُمْ مِنْكُمْ بِأَنْفُسِكُمْ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْكَ وَ رَفِيقِكَ فِي دَرَجَتِكَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

Narrated from Zayd Al-Shahham, who said:

I visited Abu Abd-Allah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام), and he said: "O Zayd, renew your worship and bring about fresh repentance."

I (the narrator) said: "May I be sacrificed for you, you have announced my death to me!"

The Imam said: "O Zayd, what is with us is better for you, and you are from among our Shi'a (followers)."

I (the narrator) said: "And what does it mean for me, that I am from among your Shi'a?"

He said to me: "You are from our Shi'a. To us belongs the Path [Al-Sirat], the Scale [Al-Mizan], and the reckoning [Hisab] of our Shi'a. By Allah, I am more merciful to you than you are to yourselves. It is as though I am looking at you and your companion in your rank in Paradise.”
