Hadith 1: Purity after death
مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى الْعُبَيْدِيِّ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ : كَتَبْتُ إِلَى الصَّادِقِ ع هَلِ اغْتَسَلَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع حِينَ غَسَّلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَقَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص طَاهِراً مُطَهَّراً وَ لَكِنْ فَعَلَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ع ذَلِكَ وَ جَرَتْ بِهِ السُّنَّةُ
Narrated from al-Husayn ibn Ubayd, who said,
I wrote to the Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (عليه السلام) asking, "Did Amir al-Momineen (عليه السلام) do Ghusl when He gave Ghusl to the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله) after his death?"
The Imam replied, "The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله) was pure and purified, but Amir al-Momineen Ali ibn Abi Talib (عليه السلام) did ghusl, and the Sunnah (tradition) was established due to it."

Hadith 2: Pure Birth
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبْدُوسٍ الْعَطَّارُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ عَنْ حَمْدَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ع يَقُولُ لَمَّا وُلِدَ الرِّضَا ع إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا وُلِدَ مَخْتُوناً طَاهِراً مُطَهَّراً وَ لَيْسَ مِنَ الْأَئِمَّةِ أَحَدٌ يُولَدُ إِلَّا مَخْتُوناً طَاهِراً مُطَهَّراً وَ لَكِنْ سَنُمِرُّ الْمُوسَى عَلَيْهِ لِإِصَابَةِ السُّنَّةِ وَ اتِّبَاعِ الْحَنِيفِيَّةِ
Narrated that Abu al-Hasan Musa bin Jafar (عليهما السلام) said the following when al-Rida (عليه السلام) was born:
"This son of mine was born circumcised, pure (tahir) and purified (Mutahhar) and none from the Imams is born except circumcised, pure and purified, but We move the knife over him just to uphold the practice (Sunnah of Circumcision) and in following the true religion (al-Hanifiyah)."

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْفَرَجِ الْمُؤَذِّنُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْكَرْخِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هَارُونَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ صَاحِبَ الزَّمَانِ ع وَ وَجْهُهُ يُضِيءُ كَأَنَّهُ الْقَمَرُ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ وَ رَأَيْتُ عَلَى سُرَّتِهِ شَعْراً يَجْرِي كَالْخَطِّ وَ كَشَفْتُ الثَّوْبَ عَنْهُ فَوَجَدْتُهُ مَخْتُوناً فَسَأَلْتُ أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ ع عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ هَكَذَا وُلِدَ وَ هَكَذَا وُلِدْنَا وَ لَكِنَّا سَنُمِرُّ الْمُوسَى عَلَيْهِ لِإِصَابَةِ السُّنَّةِ
Narrated from Abu Harun - a man from our companions,
"I saw the Master of the Time - Sahib al-Zaman (عليه السلام), and his face was shining like the moon on a full moon night. And I saw hair on his navel running like a line. And I uncovered the garment from him and found him circumcised. So I asked Abu Muhammad (Imam al-Askari) (عليه السلام) about that.
So the Imam said, "This is the way He was born and this is the way we all (Imams) are born, but we passed the knife over him just to uphold the practice (Sunnah of Circumcision).

Hadith 3: Pure Blood
حدثنا محمد بن همام، قال: حدثنا حميد بن زياد الكوفي، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن محمد بن سماعة، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن الحسن الميثمي، عن عمه الحسين بن إسماعيل، عن يعقوب بن شعيب، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) أنه قال : ألا أريك قميص القائم الذي يقوم عليه؟ فقلت: بلى ، قال: فدعا بقمطر ففتحه وأخرج منه قميص كرابيس فنشره، فإذا في كمه الأيسر دم، فقال: هذا قميص رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) الذي عليه دم يوم ضربت رباعيته ، وفيه يقوم القائم، فقبلت الدم ووضعته على وجهي، ثم طواه أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام) ورفعه
Narrated from Yaqub bin Shuaib:
Abu Abdullah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said to me, "Shall I show you the shirt that the Qaim (عليه السلام) will put on when He rises?"
I (the narrator) said: "Yes"
The Imam opened a case and took a shirt out of it. He spread the shirt. There was some blood on its left sleeve.
The Imam said: "This is the shirt of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله). which he was wearing on the day when his teeth had been hit"
The narrator said, "I kissed the spots of blood and placed them on my face."
Then Abu Abdullah (عليه السلام) folded the shirt and put it back.
