Submission to the Imams (as)

Hadith 1:

Narrated that Abu Abdillah Imam Sadiq (ع) said,

"Whoever desires that his faith (belief) is perfected & completed then he should say, "Everything that I say in all matters is from the saying of Aal-e-Muhammad (ع) from whatever that they kept secret & whatever they made public, and that which reached me from them and that which has not reached me."

Hadith 2:

From Ali Bin al-Husain (as) who said:

"The religion of Allah عز و جل is not achieved through incomplete minds, and false opinions and corrupt standards/criteria’s.

It is not achieved except through submission, so whoever submits to Us is safe, and whoever takes Us as his guide is guided, and whoever acts upon analogy and opinions has perished.

And whoever finds narrowness inside himself regarding something that We say or decide, has disbelieved in the one who has revealed the seven of the often-repeated [i.e. Surah Hamd] and the great Qur'an while he is ignorant of it."

Hadith 3:

Imam Ali (as) said,

"If you hear any of our Hadith which you don't understand then return it to Us, and stop at it (don't make conclusions), and surrender/submit, until it's made clear to you, and don't be hasty spreaders (of secrets?). To Us returns the Ghaali (exaggerators) and the Muqassir who reduce/lessen our rights catchup with Us. Those who hold onto Us will reach, while those who follow other than Our path are drowned."

Hadith 4:

From a dua to be recited during the period of Ghaybah as taught by Imam Mahdi (ع), recorded by Shaikh Sadooq in his book Kamal al-Deen:

"And make us, O my Lord, of his supporters, of the strengtheners of his authority, of those carrying out his orders, of those satisfied with his actions, of those submissive to his judgments"

Hadith 5:

Imam Baqir (as) said,

"No slave of Allah would love us and believe in our Divine authority (Wilayah) except that Allah will cleanse his heart. And Allah will not cleanse the heart of a person until he submits to Us and is at peace with Us. When one is at peace with us, Allah will safeguard him against the severity of the Day of reckoning and grant him security against the great terror on the Day of Judgment"

Hadith 6:

Narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Yafur:

“I said to Abu Abdillah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام): "By Allah if you split a pomegranate into two halfs, and then you said that the first half is forbidden (haram) and the second half is permissible (halal), then I would testify that what you said is permissible is permissible, and what you said is forbidden is forbidden."

So the Imam said: "May Allah have mercy upon you."

Hadith 7:

Narrated as part of a long narration from Abu Abd-Allah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام):

"Obligatory upon is submission and referring/returning to Us, and awaiting Our command and your command, and awaiting Our Relief and your relief."

Hadith 8:

Narrated from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar that he said: I and Muhammad ibn Muslim came to Abu Abdullah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) and we said,

“What do we have to do with other people?

By Allah, we follow You,

And we take (religion) from You,

And by Allah, we submit (Tasleem) to You,

And by Allah, whoever You entrust, we accept,

And whoever You disapprove (Bara’at), we also disapprove him,

And whoever You refrain from, we also refrain from him.

So Abu Abdullah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) raised his hand to the sky and said, "By Allah, this is the clear truth."

Hadith 9:

Narrated that Imam Ali ibn Husayn (عليه السلام) said while talking about the Ghaybah of Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام):

"As for the second period of Ghaybah (occultation), its duration will be so long such that most of those who accept this matter (i.e. Wilayah) will turn away from it. So none will remain firm upon this matter (Wilayah) except him whose certainty (yaqeen) is strong and whose recognition (Marefat) is correct and does not find withing himself any narrowness (i.e. finding it difficult to accept) in anything that We have decided and submits to Us the AhlulBayt (عليهم السلام)"
