Saeed bin Zaid bin Arta'ah met with Kumail bin Ziyad and asked him about the virtues of Ali bin Abi Taleb (عليه السلام). Kumail said, "I will share the will that Ali bin Abi Talib (as) left for me with you, which is better than the entire world and everything that is in it."

Ali bin Abi Taleb (عليه السلام) told me: 

يا كميل بن زياد سمّ كل يوم باسم الله ولا حول ولا قوة إلاّ بالله ، وتوكل على الله ، واذكرنا وسمّ بأسمائنا وصلّ علينا ، واستعذ بالله ربنا ، وأدرء ( بذلك ) عن نفسك وما تحوطه عنايتك تكف شرّ ذلك اليوم

O Kumail! say (start) every day - "With the name of Allah (باسم الله)" and "There is no strength nor power but with Allah" and have trust upon Allah. And mention/remember Us and take Our names and send blessings on Us (Salawat) and seek refuge with Allah Our Lord. Through this protect yourself and everything around you from all evil on that day - InShaAllah.

يا كميل إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله أد به الله عزوجل وهو أدبني وأنا اؤدب المؤمنين واورث الادب المكرمين

O Kumail! Allah disciplined the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله) and the Prophet (ص) disciplined ۢe and I discipline the believers and teach manners to the honourable ones.

يا كميل ما من علم إلا وأنا أفتحه وما من سر إلا والقائم عليه السلام يختمه.  يا كميل ذرية بعضها من بعض والله سميع عليهم

O Kumail! There is no knowledge except that I am the founder (opener) of it and there is no secret except that al-Qaim (atfs) will complete it. O Kumail! "Offspring, one from the other; and Allah is hearing, knowing" (3:34).

يا كميل لا تأخذ إلا عنا تكن منا

O Kumail! Dont take (anything) except from Us and you will be from among Us. 

يا كميل ما من حركة إلا وأنت محتاج فيها إلى معونة

O Kumail! You (people) need help in learning about everything that exists.

يا كميل إذا أكلت الطعام فسم باسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه داء وهو الشفاء من جميع الادواء

O Kumail! When you want to start eating, start with the name of Allah. Nothing can hurt you with His name; it is a cure from illness.

يا كميل إذا أكلت الطعام فواكل به ، ولا تبخل به فإنك لم ترزق الناس شيئا ، والله يجزل لك الثواب بذلك

O Kumail! Always have someone eat with you and do not be stingy with your food. Understand that you do not provide sustenance and that Allah will reward you for sharing your food.

يا كميل أحسن خلقك وأبسط جليسك ولا تنهرن خادمك

O Kumail! Have best Akhlaaq (great manners), make your companions lives easier and do not be harsh with your servants.

يا كميل إذا أنت أكلت فطول أكلك ليستوفى من معك ويرزق منه غيرك

O Kumail! Take your time when you eat so that those who are eating with you finish their food and receive their Rizq (sustenance).

يا كميل اذا استوفيت طعامك فاحمد الله على ما رزقك ، وارفع بذلك صوتك ليحمده سواك ، فيعظم بذلك أجرك

O Kumail! When you are finished eating, thank Allah for the sustenance and thank Him loudly so that others hear you and thank Him too, because this will increase your reward.

يا كميل لا توقرن معدتك طعاما ودع فيها للماء موضعا وللريح مجالا

O Kumail! Do not fill up your stomach with food, Keep place for water and space for air.

ياكميل لا تنفذ طعامك فان رسول الله لم ينفذه ، يا كميل لا ترفعن يدك من الطعام إلاّ وأنت تشتهيه ، فإذا فعلت ذلك فأنت تستمرئه

O Kumail! Do not finish all of your food because the Prophet(saww) never finished his food. Stop eating while you are still a little hungry because that is healthy eating.

يا كميل صحة الجسم من قلّة الطعام وقلة الماء

O Kumail! Health is in eating little and drinking little.

يا كميل البركة في المال من إيتاء الزكاة ومواساة المؤمنين ، وصلة الاقربين وهم الاقربون [ لنا ]

O Kumail! The Blessings in Money is due to alms giving and giving comfort to the believers and maintaining closeness with the relatives and they are those who are are close to ًs.

يا كميل زد قرابتك المؤمن على ما تعطي سواه من المؤمنين ، وكن بهم أرأف وعليهم أعطف وتصدق على المساكين

O Kumail! Be more generous, more kind and more charitable to the believers from your family than to other believers.

يا كميل لا تردنّ سائلاً ولو بشق تمرة أو من شطر عنب

O Kumail! Do not turn away the poor even if you can only give them a date or a grape!

يا كميل الصدقة تنمى عند الله

O Kumail! Charity grows in Allah's eyes.

يا كميل حسن خلق المؤمن التواضع وجماله التعطف وشرفه الشفقة ، وعزّه ترك القال والقيل

O Kumail! The Akhlaaq of a believer is beautified through his humility, made complete through his kindness, honored through his compassion and its glory is in refraining from gossiping.

يا كميل إيّاك والمراء فانّك تغري بنفسك السفهاء إذا فعلت وتفسد الاخاء

O Kumail! Do not ever be self-righteous because you will seduce only the foolish and you will lose your real friends.

ياكميل إذا جادلت في الله تعالى فلا تخاطب إلاّ من يشبه العقلاء ، وهذا ضرورة ، يا كميل هم على كل حال سفهاء ما قال الله تعالى : ( أَلا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ السُّفَهَاءُ وَلَٰكِن لاَّ يَعْلَمُونَ )

O Kumail! Only argue about Allah (with disbelievers) who look like they are intelligent, because they are all foolish anyway as Allah says, "Verily, they themselves are the fools, but they do not know" (2:13).

يا كميل في كل صنف قوم أرفع من قوم فاياك ومناظرة الخسيس منهم إذا شتموك فاحتمل ، وكن من الذين وصفهم الله تعالى ( بقوله ): ( وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الجَاهِلُونَ قَالُوا سَلامًا )

O Kumail! In every nation there are groups of people better than others. So be warned of having debates/arguments with those who are bad moral character. And if they insult you, be patient and become from among those about whom Allah says, "When the ignorant address them, they say: Peace" (25:63).

ياكميل قل الحقّ على كلّ حال ، ووازر المتقين واهجر الفاسقين

O Kumail! Always tell the truth. Surround yourself with those who are pious and abandon those who are immoral.

ياكميل جانب المنافقين ولا تصاحب الخائنين

O Kumail! Stay away from the hypocrites and do not befriend those who will betray you.

(ياكميل إيّاك إيّاك والتطرق الى أبواب الظالمين والاختلاط بهم والاكتساب منهم ، وإيّاك أن تطيعهم وأن تشهد في جالسهم بما يسخط الله ( عليك 

O Kumail! Never Never knock on the door of the unjust, mingle with them or earn from them. Do not ever obey them and do not be present in their gatherings which will make Allah angry with you. 

يا كميل إن اضطررت الى حضورهم فداوم ذكر الله تعالى والتوكل عليه ، واستعذ بالله من شرهم واطرق عنهم ، وانكر بقلبك فعلهم واجهر بتعظيم الله عزّ وجلّ لتسمعهم ، فانهم يهابوك وتكفي شرهم

O Kumail! If you have to attend the gatherings (of the unjust), then Remember Allah (عز وجل) continuously, rely upon Him and seek refuge with Allah from their evil. Say nothing to them, but deny their actions in your heart and glorify Allah (عز وجل) loudly so that they can hear you. Consequently, they will fear you and you will be protected from their evil.

يا كميل ان احبّ ما امت العباد الى الله تعالى بعد الاقرار به وبأوليائه التجمل والتعفف والاصطبار

O Kumail! The best thing that Allah loves from His slaves, after testifying in Him and His successors, is beautifying (the soul?), being chaste/pure and patience.

يا كميل لا بأس بأن لا يُعلم سرّك

O Kumail! There is nothing wrong with people not knowing your secrets. 

يا كميل لا ترِ النّاس افتقارك ( واضطرارك ) ، واصبر عليه احتساباً تعرف بستر

O Kumail! Do not show people your needs and be patient upon it with contentment/satisfaction.

ياكميل ومن أخوك ؟ أخوك الذي لا يخذلك عند الشدّة ، ولا يقعد عنك عند الجريرة ، ولا يخدعك حين تسأله ، ولا يتركك وأمرك حتى يعلمه فان كان مميلا أصلحه

O Kumail! Who is your brother? Your brother is he who does not let you down in times of difficulty, does not keep quiet when you do something wrong, does not deceive you when you ask him, and does not wait to offer his help until he learns that the problem has already been solved.

ياكميل المؤمن مرآة المؤمن يتأمله ( ويسدّ فاقته ) ويجمل حالته

O Kumail! A believer is the mirror of his fellow believer, giving careful consideration to him, and fills up his poverty and he beautify his situations/conditions. 

ياكميل المؤمنون اُخوة ولا شيء آثر عند كل أخ من أخيه

O Kumail! Believers are brothers and there is nothing more preferable with every brother, than his brother.

يا كميل ان لم تحبّ أخاك فلست أخاه

O Kumail! If you do not love your brother then you are not his brother.

يا كميل انما المؤمن من قال بقولنا ، فمن تخلّف عنا قصر عنا ، ومن قصر عنا لم يلحق بنا ، ومن لم يكن معنا ففي الدرك الأسفل من النار

O Kumail! A believer is the one who say what We say. So the one who leaves/abandons Us has fallen short of Us (has not reached Us). And those who do not reach us have not joined with Us. And those who are not with us will be in the lowest levels of Hell.

يا كميل كلّ مصدور ينفث فمن نفث إليك منا بأمر وأمرك بستره فاياك أن تبديه ، فليس لك من إبدائه توبة ، وإذا لم تكن لك توبة فالمصير الى لظى

O Kumayl! Everything reserved in the chest (about our matters) would be emitted. If someone discloses them to you and orders you to keep it confidential, do not disclose it. If you disclose it then there is no repentance for you regarding it, and if there is no repentance then your destination will be Hell.

ياكميل اذاعة سر آل محمّد عليهم‌السلام لا يقبل الله تعالى منها ولا يحتمل أحد عليها

O Kumayl! Making public a secret of the Progeny of Muhammad (saww), Allah (swt) would not Accept from these, nor can anyone tolerate upon it. 

ياكميل وما قالوه لك مطلقاً فلا تعلمه إلاّ مؤمناً موفقاً

O Kumail! Do not teach that which the family of the Prophet(saww) tells you, except to a believer who is worthy of such information.

ياكميل لا تعلم الكافرين من أخبارنا فيزيدوا عليها ، فيبدوكم بها يوم يعاقبون عليها

O Kumail! Do not teach the disbelievers anything about us because they will add things to it and will begin with you on the day they are punished for it.

ياكميل لابد لماضيكم من اوبة ولا بد لباقيكم من غلبة ، ياكميل سيجمع الله لكم خير البدء والعاقبة

O Kumail! The believers, who have died, will come back and will achieve victory with the believers yet to come. O Kumail! Allah will give these believers good in this life and in the Hereafter.

ياكميل أنتم ممتّعون بأعدائكم تطربون بطربهم وتشربون بشربهم وتأكلون بأكلهم وتدخلون مداخلهم ، وربما غلبتم على نعمتهم ، إي والله على إكراه منهم لذلك ، ولكن الله عز وجلّ ناصركم وخاذلهم

O Kumail! You are surrounded by your enemies. You have to live with them, eat with them and drink with them and entering into their places. It is possible that you might be able to take possession of their bounties, to their utter disappointment, but Allah will help you and abandon/leave them.

فإذا كان والله يومكم وظهر صاحبكم ، لم يأكلوا والله معكم ، ولم يردوا مواردكم ولم يقرعوا أبوابكم ولم ينالوا نعمتكم أذلّة خاسئين ، اينما ثقفوا اخذوا وقتّلوا تقتيلاً

O Kumail! I swear to Allah that when your leader (the 12" Imam) appears, your enemies will not eat with you, live near you or knock on your door. They will not receive any blessings, they will be the dishonoured and the despised ones. They will be captured wherever they go and they will be killed.

ياكميل احمد الله تعالى والمؤمنون على ذلك وعلى كل نعمة

O Kumail! Praise the Lord and the believers for this and for every other blessing.

يا كميل قل عند كل شدة لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العظيم تكفها. و قل عند كل نعمة الحمدلله تزد منها

O Kumail! For any difficulty say "LA HOWLA WA LA QOWWATA ILLA BILLAH" (There is no strength nor power but with Allah) and the difficulty will be removed. For any blessing say "ALHAMDLI LILLAH" (All Praise Belongs to Allah) and We will increase the blessing.

وإذا ابطأت الارزاق عليك فاستغفر الله يوسع عليك فيها

If your sustenance is delayed seek forgiveness and it will come to you.

ياكميل إذا وسوس الشيطان في صدرك فقل : أعوذ بالله القوي من الشيطان الغوي وأعوذ بمحمد الرضي من شر ما قدر وقضى ، وأعوذ بإله الناس من شر الجنة و الناس أجمعين وسلم تكفي مؤونة إبليس والشياطين معه ولو أنهم كلهم أبالسه مثله

O Kumail! If Shaytan whispers in your heart, say:

"A'OUZ0 BILLAH AL-QAWI MIN AL-SHAITAN AL-GHAWI WA A'OUZ0 BI MOHAMMADEN AL-RADHI MIN SHARRE MA QODDERA WA QADHI WA AteuZ0 RI ILLAHENNAS MIN SHARRE AL-JINNATE WA NNASE AJMAEEN WA SALLAM"

(I seek refuge with the strong Allah from the deviating Shaytan, and I seek refuge with the satisfied Mohammad (ص) from the worst fate and destiny, and I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind from the jinn and human beings).

This prayer will keep you safe from the evil plotting of Shaytan and the devils with him, who are all devils like him.

يا كميل إن لهم خدعا وشقاشق وزخازف ووساوس وخيلاء على كل أحد قدر منزلته في الطاعة والمعصية ، فبحسب ذلك يستولون عليه بالغلبة

O Kumail! They use deception, conflict, vanity, devilish insinuations and pride according to the level of the person's obedience and disobedience. And through this they seize control over him with domination." 

ياكميل لا عدو أعدى منهم ولا ضار أضر بك منهم ، امنيتهم أن تكون معهم غدا إذا اجتثوا في العذاب [ الاليم ] لا يفتر عنهم بشرره ، ولا يقصر عنهم خالدين فيها أبدا

O Kumail! There is no enemy worse than Shaytan and the devils with him, and nothing can hurt you more than they can. Their wish is for you to be with them tomorrow in Hell when they are being tortured and they will be in Hell eternally and the flames of Hell will never be reduced.

يا كميل سخط الله تعالى محيط بمن لم يحترزمنهم باسمه ونبيه وجميع عزائمه وعوذه عزوجل وصلى الله على نبيه وآله وسلم

O Kumail! Allah is angry with those who do not guard themselves from Shaytan and the devils with him, by using His name and the name of His Prophet and all of this wills/determinations/intentions and those who do not seek refuge with Him and with those who do not send Allah's blessings on His Prophet and his family.

يا كميل إنهم يخدعونك بأنفسهم ، فاذا لم تجبهم مكروا بك وبنفسك بتحسينهم إليك شهواتك وإعطائك أمانيك وإرادتك ويسولون لك ، وينسونك ، وينهونك ويأمرونك ، ويحسنون ظنك بالله عزوجل حتى ترجوه فتغتر بذلك فتعصيه وجزاء العاصي لظى

O Kumail! The devils will deceive you with themselves, and if that does not work they will deceive you with you. They will beautify your desires to you and they will grant your wishes and your desires. They will seduce you and make you forget. And then they will order you to commit sins; they will prevent you from performing good deeds; and they will lie to you about Allah. They will make you believe that you are on the right path and you will be seduced. You will commit sins and the punishment for the sinner is Hell.

يا كميل احفظ قول الله عزوجل « الشيطان سول لهم وأملى لهم » و المسول الشيطان والمملي الله تعالى

O Kumail! Memorize these words of Allah, "Shaytan has decieved them and He given them hopes" (47:25). Shaytan is a deceiver, while Allah is the one who gives hopes."

يا كميل اذكر قول الله تعالى لابليس لعنه الله « وأجلب عليهم بخيلك ورجلك وشاركهم في الاموال والاولاد وعدهم وما يعدهم الشيطان إلا غرورا

O Kumail! Repeat these words that Allah said to the cursed Shaytan, "Summon against them your cavalry and infantry, and share their riches and children with them, and make promises to them. But Shaytan promises them nothing but deceit" (17:64)

يا كميل إن إبليس لا يعد عن نفسه ، وإنما يعد عن ربه ليحملهم على معصيته فيورطهم

O Kumail! Shaytan does not divert to himself. He deviate from Allah such that he pushes them to disobey Allah, and then they will be in difficulty.

يا كميل إنه يأتي لك بلطف كيده فيأمرك يعلم أنك قد ألفته من طاعة لا تدعها فتحسب أن ذلك ملك كريم ، وإنما هو شيطان رجيم ، فاذا سكنت إليه واطمأننت حملك على العظائم المهلكة التي لانجاة معها

O Kumail! Shaytan will come to you gently with the best of his tricks and will order you to perform acts of obedience that you enjoy, so you will think he is an honorable angel, but he is really the accursed Shaytan. And once you trust him he will order you to commit the greatest of sins, the sins from which you cannot be saved.

يا كميل إن له فخاخا ينصبها فاحذر أن يوقعك فيها 

O Kumail! Shaytan has traps which he deploys/plants. Be careful that he makes you fall in them.

يا كميل إن الارض مملوة من فخاخهم فلن ينجومنها إلا من تشبث بنا وقد أعلمك الله أنه لن ينجومنها إلا عباده وعباده أولياؤنا. 

يا كميل وهو قول الله عزوجل « إن عبادي ليس لك عليهم سلطان » وقوله عزوجل « إنما سلطانه على الذين يتولونه والذينهم به مشركون »

O Kumail! The earth is full of their traps and no one is safe from the traps except those who hold on to us. Allah has informed you that no one can survive from the traps except His servants, and this servants are those who befriend Us,

O Kumail, that is the saying of Allah. "As for my devoted servants, you shall have no power over them" (15:42) and "His authority (that of the Shaytan) is only over those who befriend him and associate others with Allah" (16:100).

يا كميل انج بولايتنا من أن يشركك في مالك وولدك كما امر

O Kumail! Save yourself with our Wilayat from Shaytan having a share in your riches and in your children as promised (in Quran).

يا كميل لا تغتر بأقوام يصلون فيطيلون ، ويصومون فيداومون ، ويتصدقون فيحسبون أنهم موقوفون

O Kumail! Do not be deceived by those who perform long prayers, fast continuously, or give charity and think that they are successful.

ياكميل اقسم بالله لسمعت رسول الله يقول : إن الشيطان إذا حمل قوما على الفواحش مثل الزنى ، وشرب الخمر ، والربا ، وما أشبه ذلك من الخنى والمأثم حبب إليهم العبادة الشديدة ، والخشوع ، والركوع ، والخضوع والسجود ثم حملهم على ولاية الاثمة الذين يدعون إلى النار ويوم القيامة لا ينصرون.

O Kumail! I swear to Allah that I heard the Prophet (ص) say:

When Shaytan orders people to commit great sins like adultery, drinking wine, usury and other similar sins, he also puts the love of extreme worship, submission, RUKU (kneeling), and SUJOOD (prostration) in their hearts. And then Shaytan guides them toward those Imams (leaders) who will lead them to Hell, and there will be no help for them on the Day of Judgement. 

يا كميل إنه مستقر ومستودع واحذر أن تكون من المستودعين

O Kumail! People either stay firmly on the right path or deviate from it.

يا كميل إنما تستحق أن تكون مستقرا إذا لزمت الجادة الواضحة التي لاتخرجك إلى عوج ولا تزيلك عن منهج ما حملناك عليه و [ ما ] هديناك إليه

O Kumail! You only deserve to stay firmly on the right path if you walk the clear and straight road which will not lead you to corruption, the road which will not lead you away from our instructions and away from that with which we have guided you to.

ياكميل لا رخصة في فرض ولا شدة في نافلة

O Kumail! There is no concession in obligations (mandatory religious duties) and there in no force in Nafilah (additional/optional duties). 

يا كميل إن الله عزوجل لا يسألك إلا عما فرض وإنما قد منا عمل النوافل بين أيدينا للاهوال العظام والطامة يوم القيامة

O Kumail! Allah will only question you about your mandatory religious duties; the optional duties are there to help with the great terrors on the Day of Judgement. 

يا كميل إن الواجب لله أعظم من أن تزيله الفرائض والنوافل وجميع الاعمال وصالح الاموال ولكن من تطوع خيرا فهو خيرله

O Kumail! Allah is greater than needing your mandatory or optional religious duties or any other good deed or the best of charities; but who ever does good then these are of benefit for him only.

يا كميل إن ذنوبك أكثر من حسناتك ، وغفلتك أكثر من ذكرك ، ونعم الله عليك أكثر من كل عملك

O Kumail! Your sins are greater than your good deeds, and your negligence is greater than your remembrance (of Allah). But Allah's blessings are greater than all of your deeds. 

يا كميل إنه لا تخلو من نعمة الله عزوجل عندك وعافيته فلا تخل من تحميده وتمجيده ، وتسبيحه ، وتقديسه ، وشكره ، وذكره على كل حال

O Kumail! Allah's blessings and well being never leave you so do not turn away from His praise, glorification, sanctification, remembrance, and thankfulness in all situations.

يا كميل لا تكونن من الذين قال الله عزوجل « نسوا الله فأنسيهم أنفسهم » ونسيهم إلى الفسق « اولئك هم الفاسقون 

O Kumail! Do not be amongst those about whom Allah says, "Be not like those who forgot Allah, so Allah made them forget themselves" (59:19) i.e. He left them towards sins (Fasq). "Those are the sinful ones" (59:19)

يا كميل ليس الشأن أن تصلي وتصوم وتتصدق إنما الشأن أن تكون الصلاة فعلت بقلب نقي وعمل عند الله مرضي وخشوع سوي ، إبقاء للجد فيها

O Kumail! The significance is not that you just pray, fast and give sadqah. The significance is in that you pray with pure heart and deeds acceptable near Allah with equal sincerity. 

يا كميل عند الركوع والسجود وما بينهما تبتلت العروق والمفاصل حتى تستوفى [ ولاء ] إلى ماتأتي به من جميع صلواتك

O Kumail! During Ruku and Sujood and other actions of prayers between them, your veins and joints should also be devoted (to Allah) until the prayer is completed and this should happen in all of your prayers.

يا كميل انظر فيم تصلي ، وعلى ما تصلي ، إن لم تكن من وجهه وحله فلا قبول

O Kumail! Pay attention to the clothes in which you pray and the place in which you pray because if they do not meet the conditions (of prayer), your prayer will not be accepted.

يا كميل إن اللسان يبوح من القلب والقلب يقوم بالغذاء ، فانظر فيما تغذي قلبك وجسمك ، فإن لم يكن ذلك حلالا لم يقبل الله تعالى تسبيحك ولا شكرك

O Kumail! The tongue reveals that which is in the heart, and the heart survives on food. So watch what you feed your heart and your body, because if your food is not Halaal (permissible),  Allah will not accept your praise and your thanking.

يا كميل افهم واعلم أنا لا ترختص في ترك أداء الامانات لاحد من الخلق فمن روى عني في ذلك رخصة فقد أبطل وأثم وجزاؤه النار بما كذب ، اقسم لسمعت رسول الله صلى الله عيله وآله يقول لي قبل وفاته بساعة مرارا ثلاثا : يا أبا الحسن أد الامانة إلى البر والفاجر فيما قل وجل حتى في الخيط والمخيط

O Kumail! Understand and know it that we do not allow breech of trust for any one. Those who tell you otherwise are not speaking the truth and have committed a sin and deserve Hell for their lie.

I swear that I heard the Prophet (ص) repeat this three times an hour before his death, "O Abal-Hasan! Do not breech the trust of the pious nor the immoral in the greatest or the smallest things, even if it is a thread."

يا كميل لا غزو إلا مع إمام عادل ، ولا نفل إلا مع إمام فاضل

O Kumail! There is no war except along with a just Imam, and no booty except along the virtuous Imam.

يا كميل أرأيت لولم يظهر نبي وكان في الارض مؤمن تقي أكان في دعائه إلى الله مخطئا أو مصيبا بلى والله مخطئا حتى ينصبه الله عزوجل [ لذلك ] ويؤهله له

O Kumail! Do you think the prayers of a pious believer would be accepted without the guidance of Allah's messengers? I swear to Allah that they would not be accepted.

يا كميل الدين لله فلا تغترن بأقوال المخدوعة التي قد ضلت بعد ما اهتدت ، وأنكرت وجحدت بعد ما قبلت

O Kumail! Religion belongs to Allah. So do not be deceived by the deceitful words of those who went astray after being guided and rejected and opposed after accepting. 

يا كميل الدين لله تعالى فلا يقبل الله تعالى من أحد القيام به إلا رسولا أو نبيا أو وصيا

O Kumail! Religion belongs to Allah and Allah does not accept making a stand with it from anyone except the messengers, the prophets or the successors. 

يا كميل هي نبوة ورسالة وإمامة ولا بعد ذلك إلا متولين ، ومتغلبين ، و ضالين ، ومعتدين

O Kumail! That is Prophethood and Imamate, and everyone else who claims a position from Allah is an oppressor, invader or one who has gone astray and an aggressor.

يا كميل إن النصارى لم تعطل الله تعالى ، ولا اليهود ، ولا جحدت موسى ولا عيسى ، ولكنهم زادوا ونقصوا وحرفوا وألحدوا فلعنوا ومقتوا ولم يتوبوا ولم يقبلوا

O Kumail! Christians did not deny Allah, neither did Jews. They did not even deny Isa or Musa. O Kumail! What they did was they added, removed, changed things and deviated (from the right path).  Hence they were cursed and disliked. And they did not repent and (that is why) they were not accepted. 

يا كميل إنما يتقبل الله من المتقين 

O Kumail! Allah accepts only from the pious ones.

ياكميل إن أبانا آدم لم يلد يهوديا ولا نصرانيا ولا كان ابنه إلا حنيفا مسلما ، فلم يقم بالواجب عليه فأداه ذلك إلى أن لم يقبل الله قربانه بل قبل من أخيه فحسده وقتله وهو من المسجونين في الفلق الذين عدتهم اثنا عشر : ستة من الاولين ، وستة من الاخرين ، والفلق الاسفل من النار ، ومن بخاره حرجنهم ، وحسبك فيما حرجهنم من بخاره

O Kumail! Our father, Adam, was not born Jewish or Christian, and his son, Habil, was nothing but a righteous Muslim. Allah did not accept the sacrifice of Qabil because he was not a righteous Muslim. So Qabil envied his brother and killed him. Qabil is one of the twelve prisoners in FALAQ (lowest place in Hell), six of the prisoners will be from the beginning (of time) and six are from the end. Faalaq is the lowest place in Hell, and the steam of Falaq heats Hell. So avoid those whose steam is the source of the heat of Hell. 

يا كميل نحن والله الذين اتقوا والذينهم محسنون

O Kumail! We are truly the pious ones and those who do good.

ياكميل ان الله عزّ وجلّ كريم رحيم عظيم حليم ، دلّنا على الخلافة وأمرنا بالأخذ بها وحمل الناس عليها ، فقد أديناها غير مختلفين وأرسلناها غير منافقين ، وصدّقناها غير مكذبين وقبلناها غير مرتابين ، لم يكن لنا والله شياطين نوحي إليها وتوحي الينا كما وصف الله تعالى قوماً ذكرهم الله عزّ وجلّ ( باسمائهم ) في كتابه فاقرأ كما أنزل : ( شَيَاطِينَ الإِنسِ وَالجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا ) ، ياكميل الويل لهم فسوف يلقون غيّاً

O Kumail! Allah is generous, merciful, great and patient. He guided us to become His caliphs, ordered us to lead and ordered people to follow. So we have fulfilled our duty without disobeying Him and we sent His message (to the people) without being hypocrites. We believed in His command and accepted it without any doubt.

I swear to Allah that no devils inspired us and we inspired no devils like the group whose name Allah mentions in the Qur'an, "The devils among men and jinn, who inspire one another with tinsel discourses to deceive" (6:113). O Kumail! Hell will be for them and they will see the delusion.

ياكميل لست والله متعلقاً حتّى أطاع وممتناً حتّى اعصى ، ولا مهاناً لطغام الأعراب حتّى انتحل إمرة المؤمنين أو ادعي بها  

O Kumail! I swear to Allah that I do not enjoy nor wish to order or stop people, and that I will be despised by the public when I claim the command of the believers and when I am referred to as the Commander of the Believers.

ياكميل نحن الثقل الأصغر ، والقرآن الثقل الأكبر ، وقد أسمعهم رسول الله وقد جمعهم فنادى ( فيهم ) الصلاة جامعة يوم كذا وكذا وأياماً سبعة وقت كذا وكذا ، فلم يتخلف أحد فصعد المنبر فحمد الله وأثنى عليه ثم قال،  معاشر النّاس إنّي مُودٍّ عن ربي عزّ وجلّ ولا مخبر عن نفسي ، فمن صدقني فللّه صدق ومن صدق الله أثابه الجنان ، ومن كذبني كذب الله عزّ وجلّ ، ومن كذب الله أعقبه النيران

O Kumail! We are the second weight and the Qur'an is the first weight. The Prophet (ص) gathered the people for seven continuous days, and called people for congregation prayers  such that none disputed, the Prophet (ص) went onto the Pulpit, praised Allah (swt) and said,

O People! I speak on behalf of Allah; I do not speak of my own inclination. So those who believe me believe Allah, and those who believe Him will be rewarded with Paradise. And those who do not believe me do not believe Allah, and those who do not believe Him will be punished with Hell.

ثم ناداني فصعدت فأقامني دونه ورأسي الى صدره والحسن والحسين عن يمينه وشماله ، ثم قال : معاشر الناس أمرني جبرئيل عن الله تعالى ، انّه ربي وربكم أن أعلمكم ان القران ( هو )  الثقل الأكبر وأن وصيي هذا وابناي ومن خلفهم من أصلابهم هم الثقل الأصغر ( يشهد الثقل الأكبر للثقل الأصغر ويشهد الثقل الأصغر ) للثقل الأكبر كل واحد منهما ملازمة لصاحبه غير مفارق له حتّى يردا إلى الله فيحكم بينهما وبين العباد

Then the Prophet(saww) called me (Imam Ali(as)) to stand next to him on the Minbar. He placed my head on his chest, and Hasan and Husain were to his right and left.

Then he said: 

O people! Jibraeel told me that Allah, who is both your Lord and my Lord, has ordered me to teach you that the Qur'an is the first weight. And this successor of mine and then his sons, and then after them, their sons are the second weight. The first weight testifies for the second weight, and the second weight testifies for the first weight. Both of these will always be together and will not separate until they meet Allah, and then Allah will judge between them and His slaves.

ياكميل فإذا كنّا كذلك فعلام تقدمنا  من تقدّم وتأخر عنّا من تأخّر ، ياكميل قد ابلغهم رسول الله رسالة ربه ونصح لهم ولكن لا يحبون الناصحين ، ياكميل قال رسول الله لي قولاً ( اعلنه ) والمهاجرين والأنصار متوافرون يوماً بعد العصر يوم النصف من شهر رمضان قائماً على قدميه فوق منبره : علي وابناي منه الطيبون منّي وأنا منهم وهم الطيبون بعد اُمهم وهم سفينة  من ركبها نجا ومن تخلف عنها هوى الناجي في الجنة والهاوي في لظى.

O Kumail! If this is our status then why did they usurp our rights and precede us? And why did some (of them) hold back and not support us?

O Kumail! The Prophet(saww) informed them of the message of Allah and advised them but they do not like the advisers.

O Kumail! The Messenger of Allah(saww) told me something which he announced to the supporters from Medina and to the immigrants from Makkah on the afternoon of the fifteenth day of Ramadhan while he was standing on top of his Minbar.

The Prophet(saww) said:

Ali and my sons from His progeny the pure, are from me and I am from them. My sons are the best/purest of people after their mother. They are the ark (of rescue) and those who board it will survive, and those who stay behind will drown. The survivors are in Paradise and those who drown are in Hell. 

ياكميل الفضل بيد الله يؤتيه من يشاء والله ذو الفضل العظيم ، ياكميل علام يحسدوننا والله أنشأنا ( من ) قبل أن يعرفونا أفتراهم بحسدهم إيانا عن ربنا يزيلوننا ؟

O Kumail! Status is in Allah's hands and He will give it to anyone He wants. He is the Lord and owner of all virtues. So why do people envy us for virtues that Allah has bestowed on us? Allah also created us before any other creation. Do they think that they can disconnect us from our Lord with their jealousy?

ياكميل من لا يسكن الجنّة فبشّره بعذاب أليم وخزي مقيم وأكبال ومقامع وسلاسل طوال ومقطعات النيران ومقارنة كل شيطان ، الشراب صديد واللباس

حديد والخزنة فضضة والنار ملتهبة والأبواب موثقة مطبقة ينادون فلا يجابون ويستغيثون فلا يرحمون ، نداؤهم : ( يَا مَالِكُ لِيَقْضِ عَلَيْنَا رَبُّكَ قَالَ إِنَّكُم مَّاكِثُونَ لَقَدْ جِئْنَاكُم بِالحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ

O Kumail! Let those who are not in Paradise be ready for the extreme torture in Hell, everlasting disgrace, shackles, bridles, long chains, large pieces of fire, neighbourhood of every devil, purulent drinks, clothes made of iron, harsh guards, blazing fire, and closed and locked doors. The inmates of Hell will be screaming but will not be answered; they will call for help but there will be no mercy shown to them.

They will say, "O Malik, would that your Lord put an end to us." Malik will respond, "Verily you are to stay. Verily We brought to you the truth, but most of you despised the truth" (43:77-78).

ياكميل نحن والله الحق الّذي قال الله عزّ وجلّ : ( وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الحَقُّ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ) ، ياكميل ثم ينادون الله تقدست أسماؤه بعد أن يمكثوا أحقاباً اجعلنا على الرجا فيجيبهم : ( اخْسَئُوا فِيهَا وَلا تُكَلِّمُونِ ) .

O Kumail! I swear to Allah that we are the truth to which Allah refers by saying, "And were the truth to follow their whims, certainly the heavens and the earth and all those that are in them would have been ruined" (23:71).

O Kumail! After staying in Hell for a long period, the inmates of Hell will call Allah, the owner of the Holy names, and ask, "Is there any hope for us?"

And Allah will reply, "Remain condemned in it, and speak not to Me" (23:108).

ياكميل فعندها ييأسون من الكرة واشتدت الحسرة وأيقنوا بالهلكة والمكث جزاء بما كسبوا عذبوا

O Kumail! Then they will lose hope of ever escaping and their sorrow will increase. At this point they will be sure of their destruction for what they earned with their deeds and they will be tortured. 

 ياكميل قل الحمد لله الّذي نجانا من القوم الظالمين

O Kumail! Say, "Praise be to the Lord who saved us from the unjust."

   ياكميل أنا أحمد الله على توفيقه إياي والمؤمنين وعلى كل حال

O Kumail! I thank Allah for making the believers and I successful, and I thank Him at all times.

 ياكميل انما حظا من حظا بدنيا زايلة مدبرة فافهم تحظى بآخرة باقية ثابتة 

O Kumail! Those who win in this life win a passing life, which is temporary, so understand what I have said to you and you will win the Hereafter, which is eternal.

 ياكميل كلّ يصير الى الآخرة والذي يرغب منها رضا الله تعالى والدرجات العلى من الجنة التي لا يورثها إلاّ من كان تقياً ، ياكميل إن شئت فقم  .

O Kumail! Everyone moves toward the Day of Judgement hoping that Allah is pleased with them and hoping for the highest levels of Paradise, but no one reaches there except those who are pious.

Then the Commander of Believers(as) said, “O Kumail! If you want you can go now.
