حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اَلْحَسَنِ [عَنِ اَلْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ صَنْدَلٍ عَنْ  سَوْرَةَ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ قَالَ: قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ يَا  سَوْرَةُ كَيْفَ حَجَجْتَ ] اَلْعَامَ قَالَ قُلْتُ اِسْتَقْرَضْتُ حِجَّتِي وَ وَ اَللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اَللَّهَ تَعَالَى سَيَقْضِيهَا عَنِّي وَ مَا كَانَ أَعْظَمُ حِجَّتِي بَعْدَ اَلْمَغْفِرَةِ إِلاَّ شَوْقاً إِلَيْكَ وَ إِلَى حَدِيثِكَ قَالَ أَمَّا حِجَّتُكَ فَقَدْ قَضَاهَا اَللَّهُ مِنْ عِنْدِي ثُمَّ رَفَعَ مُصَلًّى تَحْتَهُ فَأَخْرَجَ دَنَانِيرَ وَ عَدَّ عِشْرِينَ دِينَاراً وَ قَالَ هَذِهِ حِجَّتُكَ وَ عَدَّ عِشْرِينَ دِينَاراً وَ قَالَ هَذِهِ مَعُونَةٌ لَكَ حَيَاتَكَ حَتَّى تَمُوتَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ أَخْبِرْنِي أَنَّ أَجَلِي قَدْ دَنَا قَالَ يَا  سَوْرَةُ أَ مَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مَعَنَا وَ مَعَ إِخْوَانِكَ فُلاَنٍ وَ فُلاَنٍ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ صَنْدَلٌ فَمَا لَبِثَ إِلاَّ تِسْعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ حَتَّى مَاتَ

Narrated from sandal from Sawrah ibn Kulayb, who said: Abu Abd-Allah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said to me:

"O Sawrah, how did you perform the Hajj this year?

I (the narrator) said: "I borrowed for my Hajj, and by Allah, I know that Allah (تعالى) will repay it for me.

And after seeking forgiveness (through Hajj), my greater Hajj was nothing but longing/desire for You and for Your words (hadith)."

The Imam said: "As for your Hajj loan, Allah has repaid it to you from me."

Then the Imam raised the prayer mat beneath him, took out twenty dinars, and said: "This is your Hajj."

Then the Imam counted out twenty dinars and said: "This is assistance for you for the rest of your life, until you die."

I (the narrator) said: "May I be sacrificed for You, tell me is my end near."

The Imam said: "O Sawrah, are you not pleased to be with Us and with your brothers, so-and-so and so-and-so?"

I (the narrator) said: "Yes."

Sandal said: "And he (Sawrah) did not remain but nine months until he died."
