Chapter 15, Verse: 36-38 - Respite given to Iblees till appearance of al-Qaim (ع)

عن وهب بن جميع مولى إسحاق بن عمار، قال سألت أبا عبد الله (ع) عن إبليس قوله: {رب فأنظرني إلى يوم يبعثون قال فإنك من المنظرين إلى يوم الوقت المعلوم} أي يوم هو؟ قال: يا وهب، أتحسب أنه يوم يبعث الله تعالى الناس؟ لا، ولكن الله عز وجل أنظره إلى يوم يبعث الله قائمنا (ع)، فإذا بعث الله عز وجل قائمنا (ع)، فيأخذ بناصيته، ويضرب عنقه، فذلك يوم الوقت المعلوم.

Narrated from Wahab bin Jameea,

I asked Abu Abdillah Imam Sadiq (ع) about Iblees in the verse, "give me respite till the day they are resurrected. (Allah) said, You are given respite till the day of the time well known." (15:36-38)

What is this day?

Imam said: "O Wahab, do you think that it is the day when Allah will raise/resurrect the people? No. But Allah (عز وجل) gave Iblees respite till the day Allah sends our Qaim (ع), so when Allah (عز وجل) sends our Qaim (ع) he will grab him and strike his neck. So that is the day of the time well known."

Chapter 15, Verse: 41 - The path of Ali (ع) is straight

أَحْمَدُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ هَذَا صِرَاطُ عَلِيٍّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ

Narrated that Abu Abdillah Imam Sadiq (ع) said, "He (Allah) said, This path of Ali is straight"

سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ) قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: قالَ هذا صِراطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ، قَالَ: «هُوَوَ اللَّهِ عَلِيٌّ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ)، هُوَ وَ اللَّهِ الْمِيزَانُ وَ الصِّرَاطُ الْمُسْتَقِيمُ»

Narrated that Abu Hamzah al-Thumali asked Abu Abdillah Imam Sadiq (ع) about the saying of Allah (عز وجل), "Allah said, this path towards Me is straight" (15:41)

Imam (ع) said, "By Allah, it is Ali (ع), He (i.e. Ali ع) by Allah is the scale (Meezan) and the straight path (Sirat al-Mustaqeem)"

حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن قولويه رحمه الله ، قال حدثني علي بن الحسن النحوي قال : حدثني أحمد بن محمد ، قال : حدثني منصور بن أبي العباس ، قال : حدثني علي بن أسباط ، عن الحكم بن بهلول ، قال : حدثني أبوهما [م] قال : حدثني عبد الله بن اذينة ، عن جعفر بن محمد ، عن أبيه ، عن علي بن الحسين ، عن أبيه قال : قام عمر بن الخطاب إلى النبي صلى‌ الله‌ عليه‌ وآله فقال : إنك لا تزال تقول لعلي : أنت مني بمنزلة هارون [من موسى] وقد ذكر [الله] هارون في القرآن ولم يذكر عليا عليه‌ السلام فقال النبي صلى‌ الله‌ عليه‌ وآله : يا غليظ يا أعرابي أما تسمع قول الله تعالى هذا صراط علي مستقيم

Narrated from Imam Sadiq (ع), from His Father (ع), from Imam Ali ibn Husain (ع) from His Father (ع) that,

"Umar Ibn Khattab stood up to the Prophet (ص) and said, You keep saying to Ali (ع): You are to me as Haroon was [to Musa], and Allah has mentioned Haroon in the Quran and did not mention Ali (ع).

The Prophet (ص) said, "O Stubborn O Bedouin, do you not hear the words of Allah (تعالى), This path of Ali is straight." (15:41)

عن أبي جميلة عن عبد الله بن أبي جعفرعن أخيه عن قوله: (هذا صراط على مستقيم) قال: هو أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام

Narrated from Abu Abdillah Imam Sadiq (ع) about the verse, "Allah said, this path towards Me is straight" (15:41)

Imam (ع) said, "It is Amir al-Momineen (ع)"
